Questions, feedback, or a bug to report?
Tell us what's on your mind. Feature requests and privacy questions are especially welcome — they shape what gets built next.
We aim to reply to every message within 24 hours, Monday to Saturday.
Bank SMS formats we're not parsing yet, merchants we're mis-categorising, and features your household actually needs.
Common questions
No. BachatPe requests no internet permission at all — there's no cloud account, no backend sync and no server upload. It works entirely on your phone, even in airplane mode.
With your permission it reads transaction SMS already on your phone — debits, credits and UPI alerts — and sorts them into categories across 750+ recognised Indian merchants. OTPs, personal messages, promotions and failed payments are always ignored.
Yes. Deny SMS access and add expenses manually instead — budgets, planning, family sharing and insights all work exactly the same way.
It never leaves your device, so there's no server to breach and no account to compromise. Nothing is sold or shared with third parties, and an optional 4-digit App Lock PIN adds a further layer of privacy.
Over a direct, end-to-end encrypted connection between nearby phones — no internet, no shared login and no cloud account. Your household's data moves between your own devices and stays there.
No. BachatPe does not send SMS, transfer money, connect to your bank, or read OTPs. SMS permission is used for exactly one thing: identifying completed transaction messages for expense tracking.
BachatPe is currently available on Android via the Google Play Store. Automatic SMS-based tracking depends on Android-only capabilities, so the experience would differ on iOS.
